7 Reasons To Love Your Dentist

Believe it or not, you have at least seven reasons to love your dentist and hygienist! You don’t need to pay a fortune, have your teeth pulled out, filled, have bad breath before taking back control of your oral health.

As a mother and trained dental therapist I love oral health. Over the years I’ve tried various products, including essential oils as toothpaste alternative.

Some essential oils can stimulate, heal and cleanse the mouth and gums. My family uses this  Organic Lavender and Myrrh Mouthwash that is entirely made from 100% natural essential oils. Even the children loved it!

Taking control to gain healthy teeth is more than getting a bright smile!

Who doesn’t want a healthier, brighter smile? It’s one of the first things people notice about us. It’s one of the things that help us make that first good impression, whether in business or in private life.

Maybe it’s because I trained  as a dental therapist, but the first thing I see in anyone is the state of their teeth!! Kissing was an issue when I first started my training!

Here’s one thing most of us can identify with –  we go to the dentist when we need help to stop that toothache!

Are you using good oral hygiene products ?

Fed up and tired of the pain, discomfort and the financial cost of having your teeth pulled out and the dental fillings?

Check you are using the right oral products you need. And, check you are using them the right way!

That Unwanted But Familiar Pain!

Who is not familiar with that excruciating pain of toothache and teeth pulling? I’ve heard that pain likened to the pain of childbirth!

Is this true, ladies?

Luckily, I’ve never experienced toothache, only had pain when my wisdom teeth were coming out! But, I’ve seen grown men in tears in dental clinics!

When was the last time you had a routine dental check up??

If you are like most people and the patients I had  when I worked as a dental therapist, you probably go to the hygienist/dentist when you have active gum disease.

That is when you have pain, swollen gum, bad breath, shifting teeth….!

That’s because it’s common and it’s easy to overlook the first subtle signs of gum diseases -redness, swollen gums and bleeding gums!

“Gum disease is so common and unobtrusive that you are not likely
to recognize its symptoms in their early stages…

Gum disease is an epidemic.
If you are over 30 years old, chances are better than 90% that you have some form of gum disease.”

David Kennedy, DDS & past president of IAOMT

You don’t have to wait for these 7 symptoms……

~ red, swollen gums?
~ a little blood when flossing (gingivitis)?
~ chronic bad breath?
~ tooth sensitivity – painful teeth?
~ receding gums?
~ periodontal disease?
~ loose teeth, teeth shifting in mouth?

The bad bugs (like the ones in the picture below) do more damage the longer you allow them to linger.

Also, they can affect your whole health as they can cause, or worsen, other diseases like heart diseases and diabetes.
